Deutsche Apotheker- und Ärztebank (apoBank) has selected the Avaloq Banking Suite as it looks to increase operational efficiency via a digital strategy.
As reported last year, apoBank was considering the implementation of Avaloq’s flagship core banking system. The two parties signed a contract to “analyse and elaborate how far the execution of the apoBank IT strategy can be based on the Avaloq Banking Suite”, Avaloq said.
Following this “successful pre-project”, apoBank says Avaloq’s “proven track-record and ability to support banks in shaping and executing their digital strategy, as well as the software’s comprehensive functional range, were decisive factors in the bank’s decision-making process”.
According to Avaloq, its solution will comply with all regional regulations and the specific IT requirements of the European Central Bank (ECB).
The implementation of the system will be carried out jointly by DXC Technology, Orbium and Avaloq. The project starts immediately, while Avaloq is “continuously extending its resources, including the teams which already co-operated in the successful pre-project”.
Banking Technology understands that apoBank was using the Core24 core banking system, supplied by FIS.
